P373K New Parent Coordinator

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Parent Coordinator of 373K Brooklyn Transition Center.

As Parent Coordinator, my goal is to strengthen family engagement within our school and the wider community. I am here to serve as a liaison and to support parents, guardians, and students with any questions or concerns that may arise. I understand that high school is an important and sometimes overwhelming stage in a young person’s life. If I cannot answer your question directly, I will make sure to connect you with the appropriate person who can.

Family engagement plays a vital role in a child’s academic success from Pre-K through 12th grade. At 373K Brooklyn Transition Center, we are committed to creating a welcoming environment and encouraging families to take an active role in their child’s educational journey. By collaborating with the school community, you help build clear and consistent communication between home and school—something that greatly contributes to improved academic outcomes for our students.

Please visit our school website, P.S. 373 – Brooklyn Transition Center, for important updates and information. Families are welcome to contact me at any time. You may email me at CGonzalve2@schools.nyc.gov or call me at 718-782-6800 ext. 2124. My office is located in the main building at 185 Ellery Street, Room 216.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for our first official Parent Meet & Greet. An agenda will be shared within the next couple of weeks. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect, ask questions, meet our school community, and learn more about the resources and support available to your family. I look forward to meeting you in person and partnering with you throughout the school year.

Thank you,

Charly Gonzalve

P373K Welcomes You Back!

Dear BTC Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
We are so excited to welcome your child to another year of learning, growth, and community at The Brooklyn Transition Center. At BTC, we believe in the power of education to transform lives—and we are honored to be part of your child’s journey.
This year, our academic programming will continue to support the goals of NYC Reads and NYC Solves, ensuring that every student has access to high-quality literacy and math instruction tailored to their unique strengths and needs. In addition to academics, students will have opportunities to explore vocational and community-based learning through our culinary arts, music, drama, visual arts, retail, and technology programs. These experiences are designed to build confidence, independence, and real-world skills.
BTC is more than a school—it’s a family. We take great care of one another, and we deeply value the trust you place in us. We are committed to working in partnership with you to support your child’s success, both in and out of the classroom.
We warmly invite you to be an active part of our school community. Whether through attending school-wide events, joining our Parent Association, or participating in the School Leadership Team, your voice and presence make a difference. We work best when we work together.
Thank you for being part of the BTC family. We look forward to a joyful, enriching, and successful school year ahead.
With appreciation,
Courtney Rattenbury
