Welcome back to school everyone!!

We are thrilled to have you and your child join our school community. As the principal, I want to extend my heartfelt greetings and assure you that we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment for all our students.

At The Brooklyn Transition Center, we prioritize a holistic approach to education that encompasses not only academic achievement but also the development of functional skills, social integration, and personal growth. I’d like to share with you some key areas of focus that are integral to our programs and services:

This includes practical math and literacy skills that are essential for everyday life. We provide tailored instruction to support each student's progress in learning to read and write, ensuring that they develop essential literacy skills in a supportive setting.

2. Vocational Training and Career Exploration: We believe that preparing students for future careers is crucial. Our vocational training programs offer hands-on experiences and skill-building activities to help students explore various career paths. This includes internships, job-shadowing opportunities, and partnerships with local businesses to give students a realistic view of the working world.

3. Person-Centered Planning: Our approach to education is deeply rooted in person-centered planning. This means that we work collaboratively with you and your child to set personalized goals and create an educational plan that respects their individual needs, interests, and aspirations. Your input is invaluable in crafting a plan that will help your child thrive.

4. Positive Adult Outcomes: Our ultimate goal is to support positive adult outcomes for our students. This involves equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to lead fulfilling, independent lives. We focus on developing self-advocacy, problem-solving skills, and personal resilience to help students transition successfully into adulthood.
